 Featured Author Terrill Davis!

Sometimes tragic life events can be the inspiration for greatness. A perfect example is this week's featured author Terrill Davis. This man overcame the adversity of recovering from two heart attacks only to be shot four times! Lucky to be alive, he found incredible strength in himself and he finally realized his dream of becoming an author. Today we are fortunate enough to get to read his work. His book, Mile Marker is a well written page turner that is both thrilling and entertaining. Please enjoy a brief taste of Mile Marker below as well as a short introduction written by Terrill Davis. Allow Me to Introduce Myself

As a child growing up, I wanted to be a singer.  Problem was, I couldn’t sing.  As I got older, I accepted that fact and decided to be a rapper.  That didn’t work for me since I am not a fan to some of the rap music out there.  But I loved writing the songs.
That became the basics of where my writing began but it was just a hobby, something for fun.  My college education started in journalism.  As far as the news went I knew what I liked to write and I knew what sold, unfortunately, they didn’t coincide.  So, I switched to business.
I managed a million dollar jewelry store for five years.  It was a fun.  I would show my stories to my employees and they tried to encourage me to try to publish.  I still used writing as a hobby.  After suffering my second heart attack, I had left managing the store.
On January 29th, 2013, I was shot three times.  The fourth bullet that would have taken my life ended up hitting my cell phone.  I stayed in the hospital for a week.  One of the bullets hit my femur in my left leg shattering it in 14 places.  After surgery, I was unable to walk for three months.  Unable to work my regular nine to five, writing became work versus hobby.
I wrote Mile Marker and showed it to my author friend Dina Rae.  She helped me clean it up and made it publishable.  My vision for Mile Marker could only come out as an Indie publication.  Mile Marker is a day in the life of a serial killer.  It is a one day affair by design.  The main thing I wanted to show case is how someone could have one day that everything goes so right or everything goes so wrong that you’d say “Wow, this could have been a book or a movie.”
I believe we all have had a day or two like that.  So, I wanted you to experience that from the view of a killer.

Mile Marker Blurb

Sergeant Frank Todd pulled up to the same area where he picked up the black guy, and then headed into the woods, keeping his hand on his Taser.  A natural path was already cut into the woods from frequent traffic.
He followed the path deep into the woods.  Although the middle of the afternoon, it looked like it was dusk.  The tall trees blocked out most of the sun.
The path started to branch.  A faint trail went to the left.  Up the path another faint trail went to the right.  Choices.  Since Frank was left handed, he chose to go left.
Frank continued to follow the shadowy outline of the trail for a few dozen yards and then stopped.  His heart beat like a sledge hammer against his breastplate.  Waves of nausea caused his vision to blur.  He leaned onto a tree for balance as he stared at what looked to be a female corpse wrapped up in clear plastic lying in the grass.
“Sally, Sally, you there?” Frank desperately yelled into the radio.
She answered with concern in her voice.  “What’s the matter, Frank?”
“Gonna need back-up.  Found a dead female in the woods.”
